Scholarships can be based on a variety of factors including financial need, merit or some other criteria that considers the profile of a student. The following sites provide information and guidance on resources available from the federal government as well as a variety of other sources.
Competitive Summer Programs
This list contains many competitive summer programs available to high school students. Students have to apply to them, and they may not be accepted. Colleges know these programs, and a few are quite prestigious. There is no guarantee that a student will be accepted at the school that sponsors any of the programs, but these are great opportunities for students to explore their interests and passions.
